Adopt A Pot

WaKeeney Main Street Design Committee has heard your voice about adding colorful flowers to our sidewalks.   WaKeeney Main Street will purchase large commercial grade flower pots to enhance our walking space downtown.   We are looking for individuals, businesses or other community groups to Adopt A Pot for this season - let's call them "The Sponsor".  Each Sponsor will submit a request to the Main Street Design Committee before April 7th with their iplanting plan and what will be in their pot.   Color, height, and trailing are the three requirements for planting design.  The Sponsor can choose any plants they choose to achieve these three design features.  The Sponsor will be responsible for purchasing the plants and planting the pot.  The Sponsor will be responsbile for maintaining their pot through out the summer season.   The pots will be placed May 25 and removed September 13, 2025.  The pots will be judged and a winner for the prettiest and best maintained pots will be awarded September 6, 2025.    We have a limit of 10 pots this first year.   The placement of these pots will be decided with The Sponsors input of desired location, with WaKeeney Main Street Design Committee making final decision on placement.   The pots will reside along Main Street and Russell Avenue.   The pots will spend the winter either with The Sponsor (if they desire) or in storage to be used again the following Spring.   These are American Made Commercial grade pots and are an investment, so before we order, we would like to know if we have Sponsors for the pots.   If you think you, your business or other organization would be interested in Adopting A Pot, please use the contact form below.
